How to refill a bean bag
With our specially designed bean bag stuffing sacks, the process of refilling your bean bag couldn't be more straightforward. There are a few dos and don'ts to bear in mind, though.
Firstly, there's no need to open up the bean bag refills from the netting that’s provided; this is not how the product is intended to be used and will cause quite the mess in your home! Instead, simply remove the filling sack from the delivery packaging, unzip your bean bag and insert the product in its entirety.

Safety considerations
For your safety, all of our refill sacks contain flame retardant polystyrene beans. We recommend that you do not remove these beans from their netting if at all possible.. This is a safety measure to help prevent children from swallowing the filling. Also, if your beanbag should sustain damage in the future, it will help prevent the filling from escaping.
How much bean bag filling do I need?
The first consideration when deciding how much bean bag filling to buy should be the size of your bean bag. A single two cubic feet top-up bag is perfect for refilling a small bean bag, but larger sizes will need more bean bag refills to be fully restored.
As a general rule of thumb, we recommend topping up around 15 to 20% of the original amount of filling if your bean bag is looking a bit tired. So for one of our large bean bag chairs, which comes with 10 cubic feet of bean bag filling, a 2 cubic feet top-up should do the job. No problem if maths isn't your thing, just get in touch and we can help you decide.
All of our bean bag stuffing top-up bags come in two cubic feet sacks. The larger size bean bag refills are all sold in multiples of two cubic feet sacks, i.e two refill sacks for a four cubic feet requirement).
2 cubic feet = 1 x 2 cubic feet sack
4 cubic feet = 2 x 2 cubic feet sacks
6 cubic feet = 3 x 2 cubic feet sacks
8 cubic feet = 4 x 2 cubic feet sacks
This system helps to ensure that you get the optimum comfort levels once you have refilled your bean bag. In cases where you do need more than one refill, this will also save you a considerable amount of money!
