What is in a bean bag?
The contents of a bean bag sofa or chair is commonly referred to as “bean bag filling”. There are lots of different kinds of filling typically used in bean bags, including EPS Beans (or “expanded polystyrene beans”- our choice of filling at GBB), Micro Beads, Foam, Memory Foam and Natural Fillings (like buckwheat, rice, sand, hay and sawdust).
Where do I buy bean bag filling?
Before searching for a retailer for bean bag filling, be sure to identify your existing filling-type, to maintain the same seating experience, or research alternative options to alter your existing experience. For example, EPS beans (our choice of filling) are perhaps the most lightweight and comfortable, micro beads are great for a harder feel, foam provides a similar feel to EPS beans but introduces a risk of mould, memory foam for a firm but less tactile response, and natural fillings (which we believe are not optimal).
